Your tasks
We are looking for a Customer Support Engineer for our client in Sulzbach am Taunus or Berlin. The job holder is responsible for the following tasks:
- Building, installing, and maintaining virtual and physical Linux servers (HP HP-Synergy, HP Blade Center, HP Proliant, and HP 3PAR-Storage)
- Administration of Linux servers (RedHat Enterprise Linux and CentOS)
- Support and administration of high-performance server clusters (pacemaker)
- Ideally, database knowledge in one or more databases such as Oracle, MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL
- Incident management (2nd level support for RedHat Enterprise Linux and CentOS systems)
- Patch management for RedHat Enterprise Linux versions 6, 7, and 8
- Change, release, and configuration management
- Participation in projects
Your Profile
- Completed degree in computer science or completed training as an IT administrator or as a network and system administrator
- Professional experience in Linux administration (RedHat Enterprise Linux Server and CentOS) desirable
- Knowledge in Linux administration
- Experience in working on complex project tasks
- Good knowledge in virtualization (VMware, vCenter, RedHat Enterprise Virtualization)
- Sound knowledge in network technology, TCP/IP, switching and routing
- Experience with SAN storage systems
- Language skills in German (fluent) and English (proficient)
- Good communication skills to ensure information flow
- Ability to integrate into a team
- High level of responsibility, resilience and organizational talent
- Class B driver's license and willingness to travel occasionally
- Willingness to work in shifts or be on call
